Cambodia: Kindergarten and study center

Sen Monorom is located in Mondulkiri Province in the northeast of Cambodia. The focus there is on the expansion of the study center and the operation of the school.

The main task at the study center is the completion of the new central building. In addition to planting a garden and building a workshop, toilets must also be built, the roof structures reinforced, electrical wiring laid and the outside area fortified with a fence. The erection of two 2000 ltr. tanks to collect rainwater has already been successfully completed with the help of your donations.

For the students from the church boarding school and from the neighborhood, English lessons are on the daily schedule. For the high school students, the brothers give English and French lessons. Computer classes have recently begun. Some university students received scholarships, which could be awarded with the help of your donations.

More donations are urgently needed for the above mentioned tasks and for the support of the nutrition in the boarding school (fruits, vegetables, pastries), for the kindergartens in Bousra and Dak Dam as well as for the maintenance of the Toyota Pick Up.

The team of Bernhard, Max and John thanks you with a heartfelt “Vergelt’s Gott” for your support and hopes for further donations!

Preschool classes and kindergartens in Bousra and Dak Dam

In cooperation with the local parish, the Marist Brothers support preschool classes and kindergartens in the villages of Bousra and Dak Dam. With donations from Germany, for example, the classrooms were fortified and equipped with furniture and school supplies. There is also a daily hot meal for the children. Because of the great distance to the study center and the poverty of the population, the children would otherwise have no opportunity to attend kindergarten or school. Above all, the concept of helping people to help themselves is bearing fruit. For example, the kindergarten teachers and teachers employed today were all trained by the brothers at the study center. For an orderly operation of the facilities, a water supply, kitchens and toilets could also be built with the help of donations.

The team of Bernhard, Max and John thanks you with a heartfelt “Vergelt’s Gott” for your support and hopes for further donations!

About the situation in Cambodia

Many children in Cambodia are physically disabled. This is due to the fact that until about 1980 the communist Khmer Rouge ruled totalitarian and mined the country heavily. The removal of the mines is very costly and still not completed, so that there are always new terrible injuries from mines.
