Once again this year, the students of the Werner-von-Siemens Vocational School in Cham donated €2,800 each to two development aid projects. For the Marist project “Craftsmen’s School in Ramba/Kenya”, Brother Hans Seubert, who is on home leave, was fortunately able to personally receive the donation check this time. In the craftsmen’s school in Ramba, young people are trained as bricklayers, carpenters, locksmiths or farmers. Young women learn the profession of seamstress. With the successful completion of a craft apprenticeship, the graduates can build up their own livelihood and, with their learned craft, help the inhabitants in the countryside to provide for themselves and to improve their living conditions in the long term. This fundraising campaign has been running since 2002 and has so far raised an impressive total of €74,000.
A heartfelt “Vergelt’s Gott” to all initiators and donors!
