Syria: Sharing Bread – More than just a warm meal
Since the project’s launch, support has been steadily expanded. While 75 older adults were served in the project’s first year, 250 beneficiaries now benefit from this program. This growth underscores the great need and the project’s importance for the well-being of older adults. With every meal and every visit, not only are health and nutrition promoted, but dignity, quality of life, and a sense of connection are also strengthened.
Project Goals
- Ensure that 250 older adults in Aleppo receive warm and nutritious meals five days a week.
- Combat social isolation through regular home visits, active listening, and emotional support.
- Meet the urgent medical and hygiene needs of vulnerable and immobile older adults.
- Empowering young people by involving them in meaningful tasks and providing modest financial support for their education.
In October 2025, our organization allocated €12,000 to the project.
