Once again this year, Liedertafel Furth is supporting a social project run by the Marist Brothers. Sieglinde Stross and Oliver Wicker presented the Marist Solidarity International association with a donation totaling €1,000 – €500 each for the years 2025 and 2026. Peter Dierl, Chairman of the Marist Solidarity International association, and Brother Andreas Krupp, superior of the Furth monastery were impressed by the Liedertafel’s long-standing commitment. Since 1984 – more than 40 years now – the Liedertafel has been one of the largest supporters of the Furth Mission Association, having contributed over €25,000. Brother Andreas emphasized that the Liedertafel has continuously and generously supported the projects since the very beginning of the German Marists’ missionary work – that is, from the very start. The current donation will benefit the children and youth at the two schools, “Our Lady of Orore” and “Bishop Mugendi,” in Roo, Kenya. The funds will go primarily toward the school meal program. For many students, a regular meal is essential for attending class and learning successfully.
