The youth groups of the KjG Furth again carried out the “Cake for Kenya” campaign at this year’s autumn market on the village square in Furth. Supported by many hard-working bakers from the community, the youths were able to generate a handsome sum of 800 Euros by selling cakes and coffee. The proceeds will go in equal parts to Sr. Gabriele for her orphanage in Zimbabwe and to the “Project Tumaini” of the Marists in Kenya. Brother Andreas Krupp urgently needs the money to drill a well that will provide drinking water for the elementary school under construction in Tumaini, in western Kenya. At the last general meeting of the KjG, the newly elected board was able to hand over the money. Father Thomas Winderl will transfer the money for Sr. Gabriele to Zimbabwe via the parish church foundation, and Peter Dierl as a board member of the Maristen Solidarität International e.V. association will forward the donation to Brother Andreas.
